The challenge

Addressing human trafficking and poverty through mobilizing the fly fishing community, the Fly Fishing Collaborative needed a comprehensive solution. We were approached in 2015 to build out branding, web, and marketing elements for this incredible cause – and continuing to work with them for 8 years.

Laying the foundation

The mission was clear: utilize funds raised at fly fishing events, gear sales, annual banquet, and a donor program to build sustainable aquaponic farms, providing resources to vulnerable women and children around the world. We believed in the founder and the cause and set out to create a global brand that resonated with the already deeply networked fly fishing and outdoor community.

The system

We developed a robust framework, voice, and narrative for the brand. Engaging the audience on an e-commerce scale, the website not only hosted videos and informed, but also facilitated fundraising through product sales. Over the years, dozens of campaigns were developed, raising millions of dollars to prevent women and children from entering the sex slave industry.

Digital education and training

Expanding into digital education, each aquaponic farm had to be self-sustaining. We built an e-learning framework, ensuring ongoing communication and training for farm managers in Thailand, the Dominican Republic, Uganda, Belize, Honduras, Peru, Nepal, Mexico, and Kenya.

Event success amidst challenges

Blastoff! Studio played a pivotal role in eight annual live and online auctions and banquets. Adapting to COVID challenges, we equipped Fly Fishing Collaborative with live streams and interactive bidding platforms, resulting in increased engagement and over $200,000 raised during each online event.

Brand impact

The collaboration resulted in the development of multiple products, clothing lines, branded gear, and custom packaging. The scale brand identity system and innovative website facilitated smooth progress, allowing the Fly Fishing Collaborative to connect effectively with its growing audience.

The result

Over eight years, our collaboration with Fly Fishing Collaborative has thrived, successfully serving thousands of vulnerable children and women worldwide. Ten farms have been built, with two more in progress. By forming their seamless brand identity, engaging website, and interactive design products and experiences Blastoff! Studio is honored to be a part of their story and work.
